RE-CYCLE YOUR FESTIVE WRAPPING PAPER

Well, once Christmas is over and the presents are opened, you’ll be left with a pile of wrapping paper that is too nice to simply throw in the bin.

Rather than dump it, why not re-use it? Here are some suggestions to get a bit more life out of the gift wrap.

1: Line your drawers and every time you get a pair of socks, you’ll be cheered up

2: If you received some particularly nice paper, frame small sections and use as Xmas decor next year.

3: Make next year’s garlands by cutting several rectangular strips and linking together in loops

4: Glue big pieces onto cork boards and make festive place mats – store until next Christmas

5: Glue smaller pieces onto the blank parts of old Christmas cards, make a hole in the corner with a hole punch, thread through some string or ribbon and hey presto! Gift tags

6: Use crumpled wrapping paper to stuff shoes and keep their shape

7: Make Xmas gift bows – cut 3 lengths of paper strips and fold in a figure of eight loop. Make 3 more smaller ones and a single small circle. Glue together as in the diagram below.

Happy crafting!
